The game of “dodgeball” does not garner a lot of national press or even much local attention. However, when we travel to Rockland, Maine, we find an incredibly close-knit community united by their love of, yes, dodgeball. This short, created by Halle Johns, unveils the magic behind the Rockland Dodgeball League, capturing the scene of hundreds of community members of all ages and genders together with one goal: to play dodgeball, together. We chose this short because it embodies the power of unification around sport, and how something as simple as dodgeball can cultivate community among people from diverse backgrounds.
