Mahalia Melts in the Rain

Mahalia Melts in the Rain is a short film about a 9-year-old Black girl who is shy due to her differences in appearance and yearns to fit in. Prior to a photo shoot with her ballet class, Mahalia’s mother takes her to a salon in an attempt to help her feel more included and comfortable with her peers. We believe this film embodies the BFF mission statement by displaying and embracing “the transformative power of our differences.” (Written by Jim Stevens, ‘20)
