Fauve

Fauve follows two young boys as they explore their masculinity through playful games. Conflict ensues as they each struggle to prove to the other who is “victorious” through contests of grit. With no type of mature guidance, the stakes of winning and losing are raised beyond a playful game. The BFF Programming Committee found this film strikingly powerful with an unforgettable display of despair colliding with innocence. At a time when not every voice is heard with equal sincerity, this short film conveys a lesson in listening to others when a plea may not be taken seriously. (Written by Michael Jones, ’20)
