Steven DePaul (P ’17)

Steven DePaul is an American television director based in Los Angeles and a parent of a 2017 Bates College graduate. As an undergraduate at Clark University, DePaul co-founded the University’s video department.  DePaul began his post-graduate career with a 16-year stint traveling the globe with rock-and-roll legends like The Eagles, Bruce Springsteen, and Joni Mitchell. He transitioned to television as a post-production specialist before working his way up the ranks to being one of the producers of the highly acclaimed NYPD Blue, for which he won a Primetime Emmy for “Outstanding Drama Series” in 1995. DePaul now works mostly as a director, helming episodes of programs like Person of Interest, Grimm, and most recently The Good Doctor, The Village, and The Gifted.
