John Murchison (’88)

John Murchison is a creator and executive with over twenty years of experience in the film and television industry. Currently the vice president of miniseries at HBO in Los Angeles, Murchison joined the network in 1995 and has since worked to develop some of its most prominent and award-winning television shows and movies, including Band of Brothers, John Adams, and Elizabeth I. Murchison graduated from Bates in 1988 with a degree in History and went on to earn a Master’s of Science degree in Television, Radio, and Film from the S.I. Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University. He is currently a member of the Bates College Board of Trustees. (Written by Andrew Berg, ‘20)
