Elsa Lankford

Elsa Lankford has been a faculty member at Towson University since 2005 and was recently promoted to Associate Professor of Electronic Media and Film. She specializes in audio production and post-production classes and is an interdisciplinary artist who works in multiple media — sound, music, photography – and focuses on urban issues, specifically Baltimore City. She received her Masters of Science from Towson University in 1998 and received a Masters of Fine Arts from Goddard College in 2006. Lankford has published work on urban landscapes, created audio documentaries on urban issues, including Highway to Nowhere in West Baltimore, and has composed music for films and documentaries. She is also the co-founder and chair for the WAMM Festival (Women and Minority in Media Festival), which celebrates diversity in media production. Currently, Lankford is composing original music.
